July 2 has been set to hear a pretrial motion filed by attorneys for 11-year-old Jordan Brown.
Jordan, of 1146 Wampum-New Galilee Road, is charged as an adult following the Feb. 20 death of his father’s pregnant fiancée, Kenzie Marie Houk, 26. Police said he used a 20-gauge shotgun to shoot her in the back of the head as she lay in bed. He faces two counts of homicide.
On Friday, attorneys David Acker and Dennis Elisco filed court papers asking that charges against the boy be dismissed, stating that no evidence presented at the March 24 preliminary hearing links Jordan to the killings.
Jordan entered a not guilty plea on May 6.
The hearing to address their concerns is scheduled for 10 a.m. in Courtroom No. 1. The order setting the hearing date was signed Tuesday by Lawrence County Common Pleas Court Judge Thomas Piccione.
